Abstract

The Tri Sakti Charter of Banyuanyar Islamic Boarding School is a formulation of values that serves as a guide for students’ behavior as citizens who are committed to doing good and bringing benefit to others. It embodies principles of nationalism, scholarship, and devotion. This study aims to analyze the values contained in the Tri Sakti Charter through a thematic study of the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The research identifies the relevance of each element of the charter—ranging from conduct and behavior, the Panca Bakti, to the 4A concept—with supporting hadiths. The findings indicate that the values embedded in the Tri Sakti Charter have a strong foundation in the hadiths, and therefore can serve as guidelines for character education of students that are in harmony with Islamic teachings while remaining relevant to national and civic life. These findings further emphasize the role of Islamic boarding schools as institutions that integrate religious education, moral formation, competence, and devotion within a comprehensive value framework.
